Okay as some of you know I replaced my OEM Steamer light with a new Steam/Deck Light Combo which I paid $55 for last year. (Aqua Signal 25 Masthead Deck 12V/10W Light ASL-254047) You may also remember I did not like the deck light bulb hanging out all bare naked the way it was designed. I felt it was not safe for the bulbs health and long term usefulness without any kind of cover as it was built from the factory. (My Opinion Only)
Well I rebuilt that part of the light with one of those Waterproof Marine High Intensity LED Flood Lights, Warm White for $19.99 from www.Oznium.com. As advertized this LED spot light is incredibly bright even on a bright summer day. (Again My Opinion Only)
I drilled out the rivet that held the Aqua Signal deck light socket to the housing. I glued the new LED Flood Light right to the back of the Aqua Signal deck light reflector and it was a perfect fit, no other modifications needed to the Aqua Signal housing. I then soldered the new wires form the new LED Flood Light exactly where I removed the Aqua Signal wires.
It came out fantastic. Here's the photo's.
Pre- Refit Configuration, OEM socket in place.
Post- Refit Configuration, Upgraded LED Spot Light in place. The wires were not yet soldered in the same place as the OEM socket was set up.
Thanks
Alan
